The 2001 British and Irish Lions' Tour to Australia saw an opportunity to bring the sports media's attention of Zurich's rugby new relationship with rugby sponsorship to an international level. From the initial proposal, of the client to the organising body of the sport, until the conclusion of the event, this contract required the media management of a contract relating to a sporting event with an international audience.
Rugby Union is a sport that has undergone fundamentally radical political and financial changes since the professionalisation of the game in 1995. Jolyon Armstrong Network understands both the differences and difficulties faced by both amateur and professional sports. They have both witnessed and participated in the changes that northern hemisphere Rugby Union has experienced within the past decade.
This international bank's recent introduction to sports sponsorship, has been exceptionally ambitious, replacing the long standing sponsors of the English Club Rugby tournament - Allied Dunbar - as well as backing the tour of the southern hemisphere in 2001. Zurich benefited significantly from the expertise and knowledge that key persons, who are now working at the Jolyon Armstrong Network, were able to provide for them.
